Sprite Splicer
What is it?
Sprite Splicer is a tool I've created to make piecing together sprite sheets from individual frames much easier. It's perfect for any exported / rendered image sequence or images saved to individual files. Sprite Splicer will take all of your images, auto detect the smallest cropping rectangle, and piece them all together in a single file for you.
How do I use it?
Step 1
Click 'Add Images' and select a sequence of images. Windows has a funny habit of putting the last file clicked as the first file in the list, so try to select from end to beginning (ex: click image16 first, hold shift and then click image1).
Step 2
Click 'Auto Detect' and the program will detect the perfect cropping rectangle. It will leave you with a 1 pixel buffer around the detected edges. You can use the steppers to adjust the rectangle for any reason.
Step 3
Click 'Generate Previews' and make sure you like what you see. You can drag the preview windows around to get a better view. One window is a flipped version of the final images to make sure your sprite flips correctly. Note: These flipped images are not exported onto the final sheet.
Step 4
Click 'Save Sheet' and save it. Make sure you add a .png extension to the file. Your result should look like:

What is an .air file? How do I use it?
You need the Adobe AIR framework to run .air files. Get it from Adobe's site.
How come the last image in the sequence is always the first frame?
This is a silly habit of Windows multi-select. If you have 10 images (image01 - image10) and you hold shift and select from image01 to image10, you'll see your list looks like: "image10.png image01.png image02.png ... image09.png". To fix this, click on the last image (image10.png) first, then hold shift and click on your first image (image01.png.) The list will now be in the proper order.
I've lost a preview window under another preview window!
That's going to happen -- it usually occurs because you've clicked the raw window's title bar and brought it on top of the other preview windows.
When I click 'New Sheet', the list of images is still there!
This seems to be a problem with the Minimalcomps UI library I'm using... emptying a list leaves some of the contents until new items are added. You can safely ignore that list until you've added new images to your new sheet.
